Forest of The Rain Productions, Inc. is a growing Internet communications company. We were designed to provide a voice on issues related to education for those who have traditionally been unheard. As part of our mission, we highlight exceptional educational leaders and institutions making a difference in the lives of children, families and communities.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Forest of the Rain Productions, Inc. is to serve as a conduit for discourse on issues germane to parents, schools and communities, in the areas of K-12 and higher education from the seldom heard voices of educational leaders in the field and engaged parents.
THE GLOBAL VIEW
Forest of The Rain Productions acknowledges there has been significant progress made to increase the level of parental involvement in schools. We are equally aware that many school districts have worked to enhance the number of highly qualified and dedicated teachers in the classrooms. However, we are convinced there remain numerous areas of concern that impact the quality of education. To address this gap, Forest of The Rain Productions has developed programs and services to serve as a conduit for increased dialogue and healthy exchanges of ideas regarding challenges and issues confronting education in America. The primary focus of Forest of The Rain Productions is to create opportunities for unfettered communication, where ideas are welcome and solutions are created.
HISTORY
Forest of The Rain Productions is a small organization founded in 1995. We are dedicated to expanding the conversation on and about education. We welcome dialogue with all who consider education a national necessity in order to ensure the prosperity of America. The challenge of developing and maintaining a quality educational system, which is accessible to everyone starts with the ability to have open, honest and inclusive conversations around shared expectations, experiences and ideas. It is our views that open conversation with America’s educational stakeholders with respect to enlarging the availability of education will lead to an improved understanding of why education must remain innovative, accessible, affordable and inclusive. Through an inclusive educational system new and exciting pathways for solutions to challenges current and those on the horizon can be addressed.
BACKGROUND
Forest of the Rain Productions owns and operates a 24 hour Internet radio station. The radio station is designed to provide a pathway for the seldom heard voices in American education. In addition, we have an Interactive Educational Blog and a Podcast Resource Center for parents and educators. The Journey Begins, our 24 hour radio station is formatted to provide educational information and music entertainment to the engaged parent and dedicated educator and the general listener. Our listening audience ranges from ages 18-65, and is heard all over the world. We have targeted parents and educators by developing programming which include interviews with experts in areas such as: (a) Parental Engagement Strategies; (b) Male Engagement; (c) Bullying; (d) How to Prepare Your Student for Postsecondary Education; (e) The Role of Historically Black Colleges and Universities; (f) Leadership in Higher Education; and (g) The Importance of Community Colleges. We have combined information rich interviews with seminal leaders in the area of parental engagement and education with classic and contemporary music. Our music selection is similar to what is heard on TV music channels for example MTV, VH1, Music Choice and BET, except it is designed for a mature listening audience.
PRODUCTS & SERVICES
Forest of The Rain Productions is, but not solely, an Internet based company. We offer a variety of services grounded in best practices to disseminate ideas and information to the education community for the purpose of establishing a resource of voices dedicated to collaboration with individuals and groups coming together to provide varied perspectives to address challenges in education. • The Journey Begins Internet Radio- A 24hr. Internet radio station which combines music and conversations (interviews) with parents, advocates and educators discussing various issues in education.
• The Parental Engagement Bridge-A social and educational network for the engaged parent and dedicated educator.

• Education, The Natural Bridge- Is our interactive blog. The Education, The Natural Bridge blog highlights our guest on The Journey Begins Internet Radio as well as original writings and research in education.
• The Journey Begins Live- A live Internet talk show were discussions will cover engrossing topics and subjects.
• Workshops and Conferences- Workshops and conferences discuss various topics in educations. These events are promoted to stakeholders in education who are positioned to benefit the most from these events.
